Saturday 5th Sept. saw the first weekend outing of the Pecten Golf Club at Piperdam near Dundee. This season has been hit hard with the bulk of outings having to be cancelled or postponed due to CoViD.
A dozen or so folk turned up to play for the Stirling Trophy which was won by David Webster, this included a spectacular chip in from 80 yds. David also won the Captain’s Prize (calculated by taking the afternoon stableford score from the morning net score ). Luckily due to virus restrictions the cheapskate Captain was not allowed to hand over any prizes. Scottish part of the tour moves on to Kirriemuir this Saturday (All together “Four and twenty …”).
This has been a difficult season so far but the efforts of David Tranmer, in bringing in the new Scottish Golf VMS system, James Hamilton, in his first year as fixture secretary having to constantly rearrange everything and Phil Webb keeping us all informed have been above and beyond, thank you.
